Best Surf Seasons in Nicaragua

Dec - March

This is considered the off season here in Nicaragua. This time of year the swells are small and the winds are strong. During this time of year the water gets a little chilly in the south as the north get a little more swell and is a good time to explore the northern waves due to wind and swell size.

April - September

This is considered prime surf season where south swells blast the coastline all during these months. Coming on these months you have the best chance to score overhead swell anywhere in the country on a daily basis.

October - November

October is the month of rain. Usually a time when most surf camps close down to brace for rain weather and onshore winds. November will be the cleanest conditions of the year with mostly 4-6 foot sized swells. A great time to score beach breaks after all the rains have washed the sand out of the rivers forming perfect sandbars.
